Legal considerations, roles and responsibilities of a first-aid provider; blood borne pathogens; emergency action steps, repositioning the victim, head-to-toe exam; CPR, first-aid for choking, introduction to AED; medical emergencies and sudden illness; stroke, seizures and environmental emergencies; bleeding emergencies and shock, fractures, head, neck and spinal injuries. American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) “CPR/AED” course teaches the basic techniques of Adult CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) . The student will also learn about using barrier devices in CPR and giving First-Aid for choking. This course is equivalent to the AHA guidelines for performing CPR and using an AED. Participants leave with the confidence to apply what they’have learned in an emergency situation. Allow 3 hours - card valid for 2-years.
Adult CPR - Basic Life Support. The American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR program is based upon the most recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care required for CPR in the workplace. Class includes: Normal heart and lung structure and function; recognition of "sudden death", how to access the EMS system; obstructed airway (choking) and one-person adult CPR. Students will learn to recognize "sudden death" and how to provide the prompt action of CPR with confidence. Allow 3 hours - card valid for 2-years Emergency Medical Response for Adults in the Workplace The goal of this program is to provide learners a valuable and enjoyable hands-on training experience. The fundmendal objective is to teach a simple, practical approach that helps students develop basic emergency care knowledge, skills and the confidence to respond. The program combines first aid and basic life support (CPR - AED) knowledge and skills and provides an introduction to bloodborne pathogens and emergency oxygen administration. Allow 6 hours - card valid for 2 years
For Healthcare Providers, First Responders & Professional Rescuers in and outside the hospital or for those needing professional level basic life support training as a job requirement. The American Safety & Health Institute(ASHI) CPR Pro program is based upon the most recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care required for the professional rescuer in the work place. Class includes: Universal precautions & personal protective equipment; adult/child/infant bag mask; adult & child CPR/AED; infant CPR; recovery position; adult/child & infant choking; legal & ethical aspects of BLS; special considerations; written & skill evaluation. Allow 6 hours for initial training and 4 hours for recertification - card valid for 2-years.
Bloodborne Pathogens course covers standard procedures and precautions required to take when possible exposure to blood transmitted diseases such as HIV or hepatitis is present. Allow 1½ hours - card valid for 1-year
